About The Area
Hopkinton is a town located along the Pawcatuck River in Washington County, Rhode Island. Situated just north of Westerly, about 8,200 people call the town “home.” Hopkinton is named after Stephen Hopkins, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, who was governor of the colony of Rhode Island when the town was incorporated in 1757.
