About The Area<\/h5>\n

Taftville is a village in Norwich, Connecticut, listed on the Nation Register of Historic Places. The area was established in 1866 as a site for the Taftville Mill, a 430,000-square-foot manufacturer of cotton. Later renamed the Ponemah Mill, the structure still stands on the Shetucket River. Taftville is home to Wequonnoc School, a public elementary school, as well as Sacred Heart School<\/a>, a private elementary school. <\/p>\n
