About The Area<\/h5>\n

Ledyard is a town in New London County named after Colonel William Ledyard, a Revolutionary War soldier killed during the Battle of Groton Heights after surrendering to the British. The town encompasses 40 square miles, many of which is open landscape that makes for a beautiful fall drive.<\/p>\n

In Ledyard you can enjoy locally crafted wines at Maugle Sierra Vineyards<\/a> or stay the night at Stronecroft Country Inn<\/a>, a bed and breakfast nestled on 6.5 rolling acres of lush lawns and terraced gardens.<\/p>\n

Ledyard is also home to the famous Foxwoods Casino<\/a>, the second largest casino in the United States.<\/p>\n
