About The Area
Windham is located in Windham County, Connecticut that includes the villages of Willimantic (06226), Windham Center, North Windham, and South Windham. The town, named after Wyndham, England, was incorporated in 1692 when Mohican Sachem Chief Joshua willed land to 16 men. Windham is home to the Windham Textile & History Museum, a non-profit education institution dedicated to preserving the history of the textile industry.
