About The Area

Noank is a quaint, historic village in the town of Groton, Connecticut. Morgan Point Lighthouse is situated on the southern tip of the village. Built in 1831, the 25-foot granite is now used as a private residence and is included in the Noank Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Noank is also where Amelia Earhart married George Palmer Putnam on February 7, 1931.
