About The Area

New London is a historically-rich seaport city sitated on the mouth of the Thames River. Founded in 1646 by John Winthrop Jr., New London was the 13th town established in Connecticut. In the early 19th century, the city was one of the world’s business whaling ports.

Yost Home Improvements has a special place in its heart for New London, as its home to the United States Coast Guard Academy, where our founder Albert Yost Sr. was a member of the Coast Guard Band. The academy is ranked as one of the top schools in the nation by U.S. News, and where cadets train to become officers.
