In addition to being a great handyman, our founder Albert Yost Sr. or “Al” was a passionate musician. He was a member of the Coast Guard Band for more than 20 years, playing mainly the saxophone but at times the clarinet. During his service, Al performed at the inaugurations of Harry S. Truman, Dwight Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy. After retiring from the band, Al continued to perform in his own group.
