Moosup is a village in the town of Plainfield with a population of about 3,200 people. Moosup is the hometown of Major League Baseball player Walt Dropo, who’s career spanned from 1949-1961. Dropo played for the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Redlegs and Baltimore Orioles.
