About 20,000 residents call Montville “home.” The town is located in New London County and situated between the cities of New London and Norwich. Montville encompasses the villages of Chesterfield, Mohegan, Oakdale, and Uncasville, the last of which is where Mohegan Sun Casino is located. With 364,000 square feet of gaming space and a variety of restaurants and entertainment venues, the casino draws crowds from all over.

Also located in Montville is Cohegan Rock, the largest glacial boulder in New England. Surrounded by 92 wooded acres, the rock was deposited by a glacier 17,000 years ago and is considered sacred to the Mohegan Tribe. Chief Uncas, leads of the group, held meetings on top of the rock in the 17th century.
