About The Area

Essex is located in Middlesex County, Connecticut and includes the villages of Essex, Centerbrook and Ivoryton. The town is rich in history. Many of Essex’s original homes are still standing today, showcasing the architecture styles of the early 18th century. During that time, Essex was a significant shipbuilding and shipping area.
