About The Area
Brooklyn is a town located in the northeast corner of Connecticut in Windham County. Settled in 1786, about 7,200 people call Brooklyn home. It’s also where the country’s oldest continuously operating agricultural fair is held. The Brooklyn Fair first opened in 1809 and features musicians, livestock shows, amusement rides and more. Brooklyn is also the final resting place of Revolutionary War General Israel Putnam.
